Jetro Willems has barely put a foot wrong since joining Newcastle United this summer.
If you ignore his debut against Arsenal and his poor performance on Sunday against Southampton, the Dutch defender has been a revelation on the left side of defence.

Willems arrived on loan out of nowhere on the same day that Allan Saint-Maximin arrived, and there is now talk of that loan move becoming permanent.
According to the Northern Echo, the Magpies already have a €11 million deal (£9.3 million) agreed with Frankfurt. And rather than wait until the summer, they could make Willems a permanent Geordie in January.

This would be a positive move by Newcastle, as the 25-year-old has been one of our best players this season.
The last time we had a loan player do as well as him was Salomon Rondon, and fans were left in limbo waiting to see if he would sign permanently. Obviously he didn’t, instead joining Rafa Benitez in China.
So talk of getting the deal done early is encouraging for fans, although some are praying that’s not our only piece of January business.
