Between 2009 and 2011, Nikola Kalinic played 44 times in the Premier League for Blackburn Rovers, scoring just seven goals.
In 2020, he’s reportedly been offered to Newcastle United. That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who claim that Roma are trying to move the striker on after signing him on loan in the summer.
Since joining AC Milan in 2017, Kalinic’s career has been on the decline. He struggled at the San Siro, then struggled again at Atletico Madrid. Why they signed him, we’ll never know…
Now he’s back in Italy on loan, struggling to even get on the pitch at Roma.
His international career hasn’t been much better, sent home from the 2018 World Cup after refusing to come on as a substitute, before later rejecting the runners up medal he received.
So is a 31-year-old Kalinic who has struggled in the Premier League in the past going to solve our striking woes? I don’t think so, and many Toon fans agree.
Toon fans say thanks but no thanks to Kalinic
Can we just get Rondon back , thanks
