It hasn’t taken long for fans to fall in love with Allan Saint-Maximin.

The Frenchman arrived on Friday from Nice, quickly endearing himself to supporters with his snazzy headband and Twitter banter. Then he started to do his talking on the pitch, providing a decent cameo appearance against St Etienne on Saturday.

And he’s also given his teammates a reason to like him.

In a video posted by the club’s official Twitter account, Saint-Maximin can be seen scoring some great goals in Monday’s training session.

If he can do this against Arsenal, Saint-Maximin will be an instant Toon hero. His flicks and tricks are there for all to see on YouTube highlight reels, but his end product still has a question mark next to it.

During his time in France, the 22-year-old was famed for his dribbling ability, but often failed to deliver a final pass or find the back of the net.

If he can add final product to his game, Saint-Maximin will be one hell of a player for Steve Bruce and Newcastle. And by the looks of things, we might not have anything to worry about, providing he can take his form from the training ground to St James’ Park.
