Has the penny finally dropped for Steve Bruce?
His Newcastle side were once again atrocious, losing 1-0 to a Crystal Palace side who hadn’t tasted victory since Boxing Day.
If it wasn’t for Martin Dubravka, we would have lost by a lot more than just one goal.

Despite another toothless attacking performance, it was only late on when Bruce decided to ditch his five at the back system. And rather than add another centre-midfielder to the mix, he just pushed Fabian Schar a little higher up.
It’s clear for all to see that the current plan isn’t working. Although some would argue that we don’t even have a plan to begin with…
But after the game, Bruce admitted it might be time for a tactical tweak.

“We’re disappointed,” he told the club’s official website.
“We gave the ball away in good areas so cheaply. It breaks down too often.
“Maybe it’s time for a change and maybe it’s time that we tried something different to have a look at.”
It’s alarmingly clear that something needs to change. We have no cutting edge going forwards. Even having a shot on goal is a rarity.
Bruce must find a way to get more out his players, as he certainly has talent in his ranks. It’s up to him to get more out of them. Sadly, most fans don’t think he’s up to it.
