Next summer, Liverpool are set to open an incredible new training ground.

The facility is costing a whopping £50million, with the first-team and youth sides all set to work in the same complex.

According to the Athletic, Jurgen Klopp has played a part in the design of the building, as the Reds manager continues to influence proceedings throughout Liverpool football club.

That’s exactly what Rafa Benitez wanted at Newcastle. But instead, all he got was a fresh paint job.

The Spaniard talked about the need for facilities to improve at Newcastle time and time again during his tenure, but his pleas were rebuffed by the hierarchy.

That was one of the reasons why Benitez decided to end his stay at St James’ Park, as the board did not share his vision for the club.

Liverpool are the team to beat right now. They seem to be doing everything the right way.

They’re running away with the Premier League title, and have a philosophy that runs throughout the club. We’ve seen that in the FA Cup with the Reds’ youth players thriving under the bright Anfield lights.

And Liverpool are taking steps to ensure they build on this success with their new £50million training complex.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are just plodding along, doing the bare minimum.

Of course, Toon fans don’t expect to be at the same level as Liverpool. But as a Premier League club, we want some ambition. Sadly, we’ll never get it under Mike Ashley.
