Newcastle fans will have been watching on with glee as Manchester United fell to a 2-0 defeat to Watford on Sunday.

The Magpies head to Old Trafford on Boxing Day, and Steve Bruce will be in a confident mood after the win against Crystal Palace. On top of that, Newcastle beat the Red Devils last time out, and they just suffered another huge setback at Vicarage Road.

But there was one moment on Sunday that should have Toon fans slightly worried – the return of Paul Pogba.

The French superstar has been out of action for a while, but was shockingly included on the bench against Watford. And with his side 2-0 down, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turned to Pogba to try and inspire a comeback.

The £89 million midfielder was unable to do so, but he certainly impressed during his 30 minutes of action. Manchester United suddenly had more urgency, moving the ball quicker and creating chances.

Pogba has previous with Newcastle

With Manchester United desperate for a win against Newcastle, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Pogba start. He’s had some interesting games against the Magpies, but the one that comes to mind is the 4-1 defeat in 2017.
