Jarrod Bowen leaves door open for Newcastle bid

Newcastle did not sign a right-winger in the summer transfer window, and have been linked with a move for Hull’s Jarrod Bowen, who seems to have left the door open for a move.

He would be a perfect fit for Newcastle, as he is a young prospect who, even at a proposed fee of around £20 million, is likely to have an increased sell-on value in a few years.

Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, Bowen said: “If I leave, I leave, if I don’t, I am loving it here.

“What will be, will be. I have just got to keep my head down, I have got agents that take care of all of that.”

He adds that it is “out of my hands” when it comes to his future, but his agents will surely be pushing for a lucrative move for their client.

And although he adds how much he enjoys playing for Hull, they are hardly the words of a player who is determined to stay at the Championship club.

We at GBB have long been hoping Steve Bruce will make a bid for the talented 22-year-old, as he is the perfect player to fill the void which remained when the summer transfer window slammed shut.

Bowen has been fantastic in opening months of season

Bowen has made a superb start to this season, scoring six goals from his first 13 league and cup appearances.

This is on the back of an eye-catching season last campaign, when he scored 22 goals in his 46 league games for the Tigers.

Newcastle will surely have the sense to see the positives from signing a player who looks too good not to be playing in the Premier League.

As well as being the ideal winger to maraud down our right flank, he has the added ability of scoring goals, something this current Toon side are desperately craving.

Bruce and Lee Charnley should be in touch with Hull now, in a bid to tie up a deal for Bowen as soon as the January window opens.

The fee is a big one for a second tier player, but everything about the player suggests it would be money well spent, and a bargain in the long-term.
