Rafa Benitez is the subject of two trending stories in the Newcastle United narrative, and he continues to be a thorn in the side of Mike Ashley.

Benitez continues to be adored by Toon fans everywhere, and if the Newcastle hierarchy thought the worst was behind them after the uproar following his departure, they were sadly mistaken.

Rafa decided to restart writing his personal blog, and during his first edition he took a huge dig at Ashley and Lee Charnley with his comments.

He wrote: “Since the moment of our arrival we have really been touched by the kindness and respect that we have been shown.

“I must say that I have had more meetings with the Chairman, the President and the General Manager this week, than I had in 3 years at Newcastle.

“They haven’t just been work meetings, rather signs of respect in which we have been able to appreciate the differences and similarities in our cultures.”

Those comments speak volumes of the dysfunctional, mismanagement of our club from the very top level.

Rafa Benitez is having huge say in Newcastle’s next manager appointment

As if those comments weren’t enough to needle the hierarchy, the interjection regarding the next appointment on Tyneside will leave Ashley and Co. apoplectic.

Reports emerged that Rafa is actively discouraging some prospective replacements against taking the role, due to the inability to work with the owner.

The Sun claim the Dalian Yifang boss has spoken to both Patrick Vieira and Mikel Arteta, warning them off replacing him in the Toon hotseat.

The result means the club are likely to end up with a low-end manager, who will never be able to win fans over, leaving the club in more turmoil than they have ever been in before.

Whichever way you look at things, the future looks very bleak for Newcastle fans.
