Fans react in droves to Sky Sports’ Toon question

It is fair to say things have not gone well in the opening weeks of the Premier League season at Newcastle, and for Steve Bruce in particular.

A mis-communication over a substitution, no midfield cover on the bench against Arsenal, A capitulation of monumental proportions at Norwich. Those are just a few of the criticisms aimed at the new Newcastle manager after two games.

With the soap-opera that is Newcastle United seemingly never-ending, there is always an epic saga surrounding on- and off-field events around St James’ Park.

Even when there is no football, the story-lines keep on writing themselves.

Over the summer we had: the Rafa Benitez departure, and the war of words and planned boycotts which followed; the Bin Zayed Group takeover that never was; Steve Bruce being appointed and formal complaints being made by Sheffield Wednesday; and the lack of transfer activity until the final weeks of the window.
