Newcastle United are looking to make it three wins on the spin this weekend against Aston Villa.

The Magpies beat Everton 3-1 on Tuesday night with a fantastic performance at St. James’ Park.

Allan Saint-Maximin starred as Eddie Howe’s side blew the Toffees away in the second-half, with January signing Kieran Trippier scoring a wonderful free-kick late on to ensure the points.

Newcastle were superb in every department.

But it was a particularly great job from the midfield.

Howe decided to go with Jonjo Shelvey, Joelinton and Joe Willock in the engine room.

The inclusion of Willock was particularly surprising for some following the arrival of Bruno Guimaraes.

The Brazilian was named on the bench, and came on in the late stages to replace Willock once the game had been wrapped up.

Howe now has a big selection dilemma on his hands.

The three that started against Everton and Leeds have been excellent.

None of them deserve to lose their places.

But then, Newcastle have just shelled out £42 million on Bruno, who is a player of extremely high quality.

It is going to be fascinating to see that teamsheet when it drops at 1pm on Sunday.

Bruno Guimaraes’ chances of starting for Newcastle against Villa not guaranteed

Bruno had a very positive cameo at the end of the game with Everton.

It remains to be seen if that will be enough to get him a start against Villa.

He may be the January marquee signing, but it is very possible Bruno will have to make do with a place on the bench again.

Before the clash with Everton, Howe had suggested he was pleased with the work of Shelvey, Willock and Joelinton against Leeds.

He could well show loyalty to the trio once again this weekend. And in all honesty, Bruno couldn’t really have any complaints.
