If it wasn’t for Martin Dubravka, Crystal Palace would have won by a lot more.
The Eagles hadn’t won a single game since the turn of the year, but they were rampant against Newcastle.

And in hindsight, Palace probably can’t believe they only managed to score one goal.
But while there was some less than stellar finishing from Christian Benteke and Jordan Ayew, it was the Newcastle goalkeeper who seemed set to steal the headlines.
If it hadn’t been for a Patrick van Aanholt free kick, we’d probably be toasting an undeserved point right now thanks to the heroics of Dubravka.

and while his positioning can be questioned for the winning goal, it was one mistake in another sensational performance from the Slovakian.
Some of the saves he made were incredible, particularly in the first half.
It’s frightening to think where we’d be without him. And the fact we’re having to rely on him so much is a worrying state of affairs.
Palace fans were very impressed with Dubravka
If Dubravka could kick the ball he’d be in a top European team. Stopped it being a walkover today. #CPFC

Dubravka keeping the Toon in it at the moment. Let’s hope we turn the screw and grab another or two. #cpfc

We’ve played really well that first half. McCarthy‘s been amazing other than the booking, Dubravka has made two unreal saves from corners & Ayew came really close. Hell of a PvA free kick but we needed to get a goal out of that good first half, I can still see them scoring #CPFC

Dubravka the only thing keeping Newcastle in this at the moment! Here for the taking, we have to take advantage. #cpfc
