Newcastle United’s season has come to an end and there were bucket loads of brilliant goals along the way.
A sensational season reached its conclusion at the weekend as Newcastle United lost 1-0 to Everton at St. James’ Park.
Thankfully, Manchester United’s unlikely win over Aston Villa ensured Eddie Howe’s side still secured their spot in next season’s Champions League.
With a Carabao Cup trophy also in the bag, it’s been Newcastle’s best season in decades and the quality of goals they scored reflects that.
The Toon bagged 88 goals in all competitions and here are the Geordie Boot Boys’ writers’ favourites.
Jonathan Gorrie – Harvey Barnes vs Wolves
Newcastle endured a difficult summer and started the season reasonably slowly.
While Eddie Howe’s success at the club has largely been built on the team as a whole, they needed some individual moments of brilliance at times.
Harvey Barnes struck from range to record a tight but crucial win for the team on the road against Wolves.
Those early few weeks of the season weren’t always pretty but how important those hard-fought points have proven to be.
Liam Brusby – Sandro Tonali vs Brentford

There are many memorable goals to choose from this season, but no other goal got me up off my feet more than Sandro Tonali’s screamer against Brentford.
A breathtaking goal from an improbable angle, with the score level, St James’ Park erupted.
The goal was worthy of winning any game, and it did just that as Newcastle carried the momentum from the historic Carabao Cup final win a couple of weeks prior.
James Rutherford – Alexander Isak vs Liverpool

Out of the 27 goals that Alexander Isak has scored, his most important came against Liverpool at Wembley.
However, his best strike was against the same opponent at St James’ Park.
The 25-year-old gave Newcastle the lead on a dramatic night on Tyneside, ruthlessly finding the top corner from range.
It started with a defence-splitting pass from Bruno Guimaraes, who was able to resist the pressure from Alexis Mac Allister.
After that, it was down to whether or not Isak could get beyond Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutchman did not even get close to Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever, as Isak gave St James’ Park lift-off.
