Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has heaped praise on Fulham’s Ademola Lookman for his recent form – and it’s starting to look like the Magpies missed the boat.
The English star has enjoyed a decent campaign with the Cottagers this season, despite the collective struggles of the team.

Fulham occupy 18th position at the moment, but are just two points behind Newcastle as fans well know.
Lookman has scored four goals and provided four assists so far in 2020/21, and looks like he could play a key role for Scott Parker in the relegation run-in.
Shearer has certainly been impressed with what has seen.
He said on the Premier League’s YouTube channel after a fan had claimed he was better than Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka in some areas: “This is a really strong point.

“Statistically, the pair are very close this season, but I think just looking at the numbers, Saka just has the edge on Lookman, but they’re both fantastic players though.”
Newcastle might have signed Lookman last season, with Sky Sports reporting in January 2020 that they had held preliminary discussions about a potential loan move.
Lookman ended up staying put at RB Leipzig until the end of the season, and joined Fulham on loan ahead of 2020/21.
Lookman beginning to shine
Lookman is starting to get a few people talking.
It is clear to see that he has tremendous ability when it comes to beating players.

He is positive and direct, and is starting to show a better end product.
Perhaps him being at Fulham and in a relegation battle isn’t getting him the recognition he perhaps deserves.
One thing is for sure, if he helps Fulham stay up at the expense of Newcastle, plenty of questions will be asked.
