Newcastle United and Eddie Howe made history this season.
They ended the club’s trophy drought, with Newcastle United beating Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup in March.
Goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak handed Newcastle United victory at Wembley, as a 70-year wait for domestic silverware finally came to an end.
Every member of this Newcastle United squad cemented their status as a club legend, while Eddie Howe will likely get a statue in the future.
The Newcastle United manager got his tactics spot on, proving once again why he is one of the top coaches in English football.

Eddie Howe made Jamie Carragher go ‘wow’
In fact, Gary Neville believes that Newcastle’s Carabao Cup final win over Liverpool produced the best coaching performance of the entire season.
During the end of season awards for Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Neville reflected on what Howe achieved at Wembley.
“I just thought it was an outstanding coaching performance,” he said.
“Liverpool obviously dominated the ball. Newcastle had far more shots. They controlled the game without the ball.
“I don’t think Salah had a shot or created a chance in the entire game, which I think is the first or only time that has happened this season.
“I thought they were outstanding, on a day I thought Liverpool would win.”
While Carragher did not pick Newcastle’s Carabao Cup final win for his coaching performance of the season, he did admit to being blown away by something that Eddie Howe said after the final whistle.
Carragher added: “I was thinking about Eddie Howe and that cup final. Something he said after the game was brilliant. He said they had been preparing for that game as soon as they got to the final.
“They played Liverpool a few weeks before, and they almost did the opposite of everything they were going to do in the game. Isak never played. There was probably nothing wrong with him, just leave him out.
“I thought ‘wow’. A manager thinking he’s still got important league games, but from Monday to Friday we will work on the Liverpool game.
“The set piece they scored in the game from Dan Burn, they had been working on for weeks. I thought it was really interesting the way Eddie Howe went about it.”
What Dan Burn said about his Wembley goal
Newcastle United were keen to exploit Liverpool from set pieces in the cup final.
They had various opportunities before breaking the deadlock, with a Newcastle United player always getting the first contact when a corner or a free-kick came into the box.
Eventually it was Burn who provided the crucial moment, flying through the air to latch on to Kieran Trippier’s corner and send Newcastle United supporters wild.
It was a beautiful header, with Burn knowing it was going in as soon as he made contact.
“As soon as I headed it, I knew it was in,” he told Sky Sports.
“It was just one of those. I don’t get many, so at least I’ve saved it for a big occasion.”
Newcastle’s work on the training ground paid off, as Burn set the Magpies on their way to their biggest win in living memory.
Despite facing the eventual Premier League champions, Newcastle United were worthy winners at Wembley. They outplayed Liverpool in every department, which is a testament to the players and the way they executed Howe’s gameplan.
