For the first time since 2011, Newcastle United beat bitter rivals Sunderland.
While Newcastle manager Eddie Howe stressed he was never worried about the derby potentially adding to his list of woes this season, surely even the most ardent Toon fan would not completely write off the idea of slipping up at the Stadium of Light.
So poor away from home all season and without a win over the Black Cats in well over a decade, it had all the makings of an FA Cup upset, even despite the differences in both on-field quality and off-field resources.
Luckily, those slight worries proved unfounded and Newcastle were able to enjoy it.
Kieran Trippier reminded the home supporters of the scoreline while he was getting goaded, while Anthony Gordon was thought to have joked he would give Trai Hume his shirt after the game following a tussle between the two.
Howe’s squad were also able to enjoy taking a photo in front of the away end after the win, much to the annoyance of the home support.
Indeed, there was another great moment in the crowd it seems.
Sunderland 0-3 Newcastle: What Shola Ameobi was spotted doing in the crowd
Shola Ameobi, who boasted a great record against Sunderland during his playing days, was in the away end.
Now Newcastle’s loan manager, The Chronicle spotted him soaking up the atmosphere amongst the travelling support.
“Shola Ameobi was serenaded with his very own chant as he watched on in the stands, and the loan manager couldn’t hide his smile as supporters chanted his name during a break in play,” they wrote.

Shola Ameobi: How many goals did former Newcastle striker score against Sunderland?
Known as the ‘Mackem Slayer’, Ameobi scored seven goals in 16 games against Sunderland, while also recording three assists.
Interestingly, in scoring twice on Saturday, Alexander Isak became the first Newcastle player to bag a brace away at Sunderland since Ollie Burton in 1967 (via Opta).
Perhaps the baton has been passed…
