Newcastle United will be the first club to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge following the Roman Abramovich sanction.
The future of Chelsea has been up in the air over the past week or so, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine shining a spotlight on Abramovich.
The 55-year-old announced last week that he would be selling the Blues. There have even been claims that Newcastle co-owner Jamie Reuben could make a bid.

But all talk of a Chelsea takeover has now became even more complicated. That’s because owner Abramovich has now been sanctioned by the UK government.
His assets have been frozen, including Chelsea Football Club. One of the repercussions is that tickets for games at Stamford Bridge cannot be sold, with only season ticket holders allowed to attend.
So what does this mean for Newcastle, who head to Stamford Bridge on Sunday?

Newcastle fans will be allowed inside Stamford Bridge
Chelsea are allowed to continue operating as a football club, meaning the game will go ahead. And Newcastle fans will be allowed to attend the game.
While Abramovich’s sanction means tickets can no longer be sold for games at Stamford Bridge, Toon fans have got lucky.

Tickets purchased before March 10th will be valid, meaning Stamford Bridge should have a packed out away end on Sunday afternoon.
That’s good news for Newcastle, who have been backed brilliantly all season by supporters.
Eddie Howe’s side face the Blues on Sunday afternoon, kicking off at 2pm. The game is live on Sky Sports in the UK.
