What every major power broker at Newcastle United has been saying about Eddie Howe recently

Questions have been raised about Eddie Howe’s future at Newcastle United after a string of poor results in the last month.

Defeats to Nottingham Forest and Luton Town as well as exits from both the Champions League and Carabao Cup have but Howe under pressure for the first time since taking the Newcastle job.

However, a report from The Telegraph claims that those in charge of the club are 100% behind the manager and that their support is as ‘unequivocal’ as you’re going to get in this day and age.

Howe is under no pressure from Newcastle

Social media is never a great way to gauge what the opinion of a manager is in a professional sense, it’s simply somewhere where fans and the media like to exaggerate what is really going on at the club and sell it as the truth.

Clearly the board of Newcastle do not share the same opinions of some of the supporters you see on these platforms as they are keeping a very level head and anticipated that this season would be very difficult for Howe and his players.

Added fixtures with a squad that is not yet prepared to conquer Europe was going to be a tough task as it is, but to throw in an injury crisis and an unforeseen suspension makes it an impossible task for Howe.

The owners appreciate this and are willing to accept a drop in standards this season as the club was already at least two years ahead of the five year plan that they originally proposes following the takeover.

Howe remains the ‘perfect’ man for the job

There have already been rumours linking Newcastle to Jose Mourinho despite the fact that the board aren’t even considering sacking the 46-year-old.

Howe philosophy and what he’s done to transform certain players who were already at the club, like Joelinton and Fabian Schar, as well as new signings, like Anthony Gordon, is exactly what the club are looking for.

It’s easy to say that Howe isn’t good enough and should be replaced, but then the team who have worked so hard to play this high intensity style suddenly have to go back to square one and the long-term project starts again for Newcastle.

Howe is as level headed and as calm as managers come and that is quite obviously a big factor in the kind of head coach that the owners want, the direct opposite of what Mourinho has been throughout his career.
