Garang Kuol’s recent record for Newcastle United
In his last seven competitive matches, Kuol has scored five goals for Newcastle United.
He really is starting to thrive at youth level, which is encouraging for a player whose stock has dropped ever since leaving Central Coast Mariners to sign for the Magpies.
There was so much hype when Newcastle United bought Kuol. It felt like a masterstroke from Dan Ashworth – the type of signing that Paul Mitchell wants to complete more regularly now that he is the sporting director at St James’ Park.
Since his arrival, various factors have gone against Kuol. His failed loan spells were not really his fault, while injuries stopped him from securing a third temporary exit.
But now Kuol is playing regularly for the Magpies’ Under-21s and is starting to reap the rewards. Long may it continue.
