While Newcastle United were drawing 1-1 with Chelsea in Atlanta, a former Magpie was doing something very special over in Houston.

It feels like every major club is in America right now, with Newcastle currently competing in the Premier League Summer Series. The Magpies are still unbeaten in the States, with Miguel Almiron’s goal ensuring Eddie Howe’s side did not lose to Chelsea.

Real Madrid are also competing in the USA as they prepare for the 2023/24 season, and they took on Manchester United in a friendly at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Two of the world’s biggest clubs went head to head, and it was Los Blancos who came out on top.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side won 2-0, with Jude Bellingham scoring his first goal in a Real Madrid shirt.

However, the real star of the show was former Newcastle United flop Joselu.

Joselu scores sensational bicycle kick vs Man United

That is because the Spaniard also found the net against Manchester United, and what a goal it was. You can see the strike below in all its glory:

Joselu produced a sensational bicycle kick in the 89th minute, as he scored his first goal since rejoining Real Madrid on loan from Espanyol.

It was a fairy-tale move for the 33-year-old, who is continuing to defy belief. His goal against Man United was absolutely out of this world – it was the kind of goal you would expect prime Cristiano Ronaldo to score.

But it was Joselu, the man who just was not up to standard in a black and white shirt.

He has had a remarkable career since leaving Newcastle in 2019, and it is great to see him going from strength to strength.

His goal last night was insane, and an early indication that he really can do the business in a Real Madrid shirt. Not bad for a lad who Newcastle sold for just £2.5million…
