Paul Dummett played 61 minutes of Wales’ 1-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday night.
Ryan Giggs’ side needed a late winner, with Ben Woodburn scoring the only goal of the game in the 92nd minute. By that time, Dummett was off the pitch.

The Newcastle man started as part of a back four, but not in his favoured position. Rather than being deployed at left-back, the blonde bombshell was at the heart of defence alongside Ashley Williams.
While we have seen him play as a centre-back for the Magpies, that is usually as part of a back three. Given that he is left footed, he is perfect for the left centre-back role, as proven against Bournemouth.

Just after the hour mark, he was replaced by Swansea defender Declan John.
The 27-year-old has had a good few weeks. Having struggled to get back in the Newcastle team after injury, he was a half-time substitute against Everton. Was he the reason for the incredible comeback? You tell me.
Then he captained the Magpies from the start against Bournemouth, putting in a strong performance including some amazing acrobatics off the line.

And now he’s kept a clean sheet on the international stage, operating as part of a centre-back pair rather than a trio.
Clearly the new hair is working for him. And Wales fans were impressed with Dummett’s solid performance.
