Eddie Howe is always looking for more from his Newcastle United players, and believes one of his midfielders can score more goals for the team.
Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson are the Magpies’ two main sources of goals, but Newcastle have actually had scorers from all over the pitch so far this season.
In total, Newcastle have scored 27 goals in all competitions so far, boasting 11 different scorers already.
One of those is Sean Longstaff, who has scored twice this season. His first was the opener in the 8-0 win over Sheffield United, while the second was goal number three in the 4-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
That was a special night for Longstaff, with the local lad scoring in front of the Gallowgate on a historic evening. The 25-year-old loves a goal at that end of the pitch, having bagged a brace there in the Carabao Cup semi final last season.

Longstaff has a knack for scoring on the big stage, and Howe wants him to start finding the net on a more regular basis.
Eddie Howe wants more goals from Sean Longstaff
Eddie Howe has been speaking to Newcastle World about Sean Longstaff, and named one area of his game that he thinks the midfielder can improve in.
“I think he’s got everything depending on what system you want to play but for us, he perfectly fits the No.8 role that we’re using him in,” he said.
“I’d love to see him score more goals and get in more goalscoring positions because I think he is a very good finisher – you saw the other night with a really good goal, so hopefully there’s more to come from him.”

Longstaff has never scored more than three a season for Newcastle
For all his strengths, Longstaff really should score more goals.
During his Newcastle career, his best ever tally is three, and that was last season. He has never been prolific, with his loan spell at Blackpool proving to be his most fruitful period. He scored nine goals whilst on loan with the Tangerines.
Considering the fact he already has two to his name, you have to imagine that Longstaff will go on to have his best ever season in a Newcastle shirt.
He gets in some brilliant positions, and is a great striker of the ball when he takes an early shot. One or two touch finishes are where he thrives, so it is all about getting him into positions where he can utilise that skill. We witnessed it perfectly against PSG in the Champions League, even if he did get a helping hand from Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Longstaff is playing brilliantly at the moment, much to the delight of Howe. But the Newcastle manager thinks that the academy graduate is capable of more, particularly in the final third.
