Just as Newcastle United tied down their star man to a new deal yesterday, West Ham look set to do the same in order to stave off interest from Newcastle and Liverpool.

West Ham are having a much better time of it in the Premier League this season than last and as such that will help convince star players who perhaps were looking elsewhere before, to stick around.

One such player is Jarrod Bowen. The England international was exceptional last season for West Ham despite their league struggles, and he helped the Irons lift the UEFA Conference League trophy.

Newcastle and Liverpool both monitored Jarrod Bowen

Over the summer Newcastle and Liverpool were said to be keen on the 26-year-old winger and with that interest still looming, David Moyes has moved to tie down Bowen to a new deal.

In a post by Fabrizio Romano on X, he claims that Bowen has agreed a new deal with West Ham after lengthy discussions and is now set to put pen to paper on a new deal, saying: “EXCLUSIVE: Jarrod Bowen agrees new long term deal at West Ham. It’s all done, one more excellent news for the #WHUFC winger after England NT call. Bowen wanted to stay as key part of the project. Jarrod said yes to final proposal.”

The new contract will effectively end Newcastle’s interest in Bowen.

Bowen will be West Hams’ key man this afternoon

Bowen would be a magnificent signing for Newcastle to compete with Miguel Almiron for that right wing position.

The player, dubbed ‘unbelievable‘ by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp already has five goals this season as he’s continued his form from the last campaign.

Newcastle, obviously aware of his talent, will have to nullify Bowen today as the two sides clash in the Premier League this afternoon.
