Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Dele Alli in January.
That’s according to TEAMtalk, who claim that the Magpies have contacted Tottenham about a loan deal for the 25-year-old.
The report adds that Newcastle want an option to buy Alli as well, providing they stay in the Premier League.
The England international is massively out of favour at Tottenham right now. Sadly for him, the arrival of Antonio Conte has not changed his fortunes.
A move away in January is needed, with reports stating that Tottenham intend to get rid of him when the transfer window opens.

He’d certainly be an interesting signing for Newcastle. But if things had gone differently almost seven years ago, he already could have been a Magpie.
Newcastle were favourites to sign Dele Alli seven years ago
In January 2015, Dele Alli was an 18-year-old playing in League One for MK Dons. He was thriving, netting 12 goals as Karl Robinson’s side went in search of promotion. His teammates were well aware of his incredible ability, with then MK Dons captain Dean Lewington calling him ‘special’.
But Alli was doing so well in the third tier that he caught the attention of Premier League clubs.
On transfer deadline day, he secured a £5million move to Tottenham, but that doesn’t tell the full story.
In fact, Alli was actually very close to joining Newcastle United. As the end of the transfer window edged closer, it looked like the teenager was going to join the Magpies.

On January 26th, the Daily Mail reported that Newcastle were set to complete a deal to sign Alli and loan him back to MK Dons. The Times added that we were in pole position to secure his signature.
The deal was so close that the club already had a press release written up in anticipation.
But, as always with Newcastle, things went awry. Instead, Alli signed on the dotted line with Tottenham, with an alleged wage issue holding up a move to St James’ Park.
He went on to prove what a signing he would have been for Newcastle. Alli took to the Premier League with ease, and quickly received international recognition with the Three Lions as well.

However, Alli’s career has stagnated. After a blistering start to life in the Premier League, things have stalled.
Now he needs a fresh start. And could Newcastle be the place for him?
A move in 2015 collapsed at the final hurdle, leaving Newcastle red-faced. But all will be forgotten if he arrives in 2022 and he helps us secure Premier League survival.
