Tino Livramento has thanked Newcastle United fans for their support following a difficult season.

While injuries played their part, Livramento’s form was way below expectations during the 2025/26 season.

The defender has been brilliant since joining Newcastle United from Southampton in 2023, but this was surely his worst campaign yet.

It’s been a tough year but name YOUR player of the season and share why 👇

Furthermore, Livramento’s long-term future at Newcastle is uncertain. The England international has just two years to go on his contract and has been linked with several top clubs around the Premier League.

It is interesting, then, that he has sent a message to supporters.

Livramento thanks Newcastle fans after tough season

Taking to Instagram, Livramento wrote: “Ups and downs all season but the support never changed. I appreciate every single one of you.”

While it’s often hard to read too much into statements from players on social media, it is interesting that the 23-year-old offers little mention of next season.

It certainly isn’t hard to imagine Livramento leaving. With only two years left on his contract and no sign of an extension, this is the summer to sell him.

Let us know who disappointed YOU the most this season 👇

As ever, feel free to mention anyone not pictured

Criticism of Livramento should be tempered, of course. The former Chelsea youngster has been brilliant in two positions and was excellent in the victorious Carabao Cup final.

Still, there’s little doubt that his form has tailed off this season. The number of injuries he suffered does have to be taken into account, but some of the performances towards the back end of the campaign were unacceptable.

With that in mind, perhaps losing Livramento would not be quite as big a deal as once feared. While not to downplay his quality, the fact that Lewis Miley has emerged as a genuine option at right-back does lessen the need to keep a hold of Livramento.

The next few months will almost certainly see Livramento’s name spread across gossip pages, social media and newspaper reports. There’s going to be a big summer ahead.
