It’s been an incredible couple of years for Newcastle United which makes picking three of the best players at the club much harder than it has been over the last 15 years.
Though things may not be working on the pitch at the minute, there have been some spectacular performances from a number of Newcastle players to push the team back into the Champions League.
It’s not been an easy task, but these three players epitomise everything about Newcastle and all they’ve achieved under Eddie Howe.
Bruno Guimaraes is still one of the best midfielders in the league
Bruno Guimaraes has been the standout player for the team, not just in terms of quality but also his consistency which has been so impressive considering the amount of games he’s played this year.
While Newcastle have had injuries all over the pitch this year, Bruno has been the one mainstay in the team and seems to be getting better and better every time he steps onto the pitch.
Despite the recent form, Bruno has carried this team on his back at times and looking at the fixtures ahead he may have to do it again in January.
Kieran Trippier is a Newcastle hero
Kieran Trippier may be going through a tough spell at the moment, but a few bad games doesn’t define a player’s year, and the 33-year-old has been nothing short of exceptional for the most part.
The stability and leadership he brings to the defence cannot be underestimated, but it his attacking output which has been so key to Newcastle’s success and the experienced defender leads the league in assists.
Now it’s time to support the right-back during his most difficult period at the club, just like he supported anyone struggling to find a run of form.

Anthony Gordon has elevated Newcastle’s attack
Although there was some concern about Newcastle spending £45m, what turned out to be the whole budget, in January to sign Anthony Gordon, he’s turned out to be one of Howe’s key men this season.
It took him some adjusting to but the winger finally looks to be a star player in the North East and is a serious threat in Newcastle’s attack.
The team had relied heavily on Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak’s goals last season and with the two strikers struggling with injuries, it’s been hugely important to have Gordon improving his record in the final third.
The ‘brilliant‘ Swedish striker has just missed out on a place on this list, but with his talent he could very easily be the best player at the club.
