The big name is Allan Saint-Maximin, who can be seen taking a full part in the session, rather than just working on his fitness. We’ve missed the French winger massively, and having him back for Wolves could give us a real boost.
There were also three academy players taking part, with Steve Bruce potentially getting a closer look at some youth options before dipping into the transfer market.
Lewis Cass, Tom Allan and Ludwig Francillette were all pictured taking part in the session, with the trio yet to make their senior bow.
Cass and Allan were both on the bench against Rochdale, while Francillette also travelled to Spotland. With the replay against the League One side coming next week, could we potentially see some debuts at St James’ Park?
The main positive from the training pictures is seeing so any first-team players back in action. The festive period decimated our squad, which led to a horrific run of results for the Magpies.
But the likes of Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett and Jetro Willems were all back in action, hopefully in contention to play a part at Molineux. But will Saint-Maximin join them? Fingers crossed.
