Newcastle have made some exciting additions this summer, but there are also plenty of outgoing deals that the club need to get over the line.
Promising youngster Harrison Ashby looks set to be the next Newcastle departure. The young right-back is edging towards a loan move, as reported by Chronicle Live. Eddie Howe is keen for the 21-year-old to get regular first team football this season, rather than serve as an understudy at St James’ Park.
Aside from youthful talents in need of experience, there is also plenty of deadwood in the squad that Newcastle need to shift. Certain fringe players, such as Paul Dummett, Matt Ritchie, and club captain Jamaal Lascelles are likely to stick around and provide squad depth. There are others in Howe’s ranks, though, who the boss will try to move on before the transfer window shuts.
Ryan Fraser
Fraser is the most obvious candidate for an exit, having been cast away to the Magpies’ reserves last season. There’s no way back for the Scot at the Tyneside club, and he needs to find pastures new where he can rebuild his career and restore his reputation.
Despite his Newcastle career having faltered, he made a positive impression with some at the club. Newcastle’s youngsters will have learned plenty from Fraser and will miss having his experience to guide them.

Jeff Hendrick
Hendrick showed in his time at Burnley that he could thrive as a Premier League midfielder. He did enough at Turf Moor to convince Newcastle to snap him up on a free transfer when his contract with the Clarets expired. Since then, though, he has gradually slipped down the pecking order and clearly has no place in Howe’s plans.
Hendrick spent last season on loan in the Championship with Norwich City, where he got to enjoy being a regular starter again. The 31-year-old is a forgotten man at Newcastle and must now find another club to take him on, ideally on a permanent basis.

Javier Manquillo
Manquillo is a popular figure, and may well have a part to play for Howe’s side if he sticks around this season. With Champions League football to contend with, the manager will want to rest Kieran Trippier whenever he can. The Spanish right-back, who cost the club £4.5 million, would be able to step in for the English veteran on these occasions.
However, a report in Spanish publication AS suggests there could be plenty of interest in the 29-year-old this summer. Newcastle need to make sales in order to facilitate more signings and comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. Manquillo could be allowed to make way in order to facilitate this.
