Newcastle United owners PIF have now signed a money-spinning contract with Cristiano Ronaldo at one of the other clubs they own.
Indeed, the Newcastle United owners also oversee Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, for whom Ronaldo has played since 2023.
The 40-year-old’s contract was due to expire this summer and there had been some debate over his future.
However, PIF have now tied arguably football’s greatest-ever superstar to a huge new contract in Riyadh.
The deal was confirmed on Thursday, while a breakdown of the contract emerged soon after.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s huge salary paid for by PIF
According to The Sun, the Al-Nassr owners – who are also in charge at St James’ Park – have given Ronaldo a pay rise.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star is thought to be getting a stunning £488k-per-day.
Ronaldo is also reportedly getting a £24.5million signing-on fee, which can rise up to £38million if he stays until the second year of his contract.
He’s also on course for £4million if he wins the Golden Boot, along with an £8million bonus if Al-Nassr win the league.
How Cristiano Ronaldo’s wages compare to Newcastle United’s highest earners
Newcastle’s highest-paid player is Bruno Guimaraes on a salary thought to be around £160k-per-week. Clearly, that’s a huge amount of money, but it does not compare to Ronaldo’s massive salary.
While Newcastle want to offer Alexander Isak a new contract, it’s hard to see even the Sweden striker getting anywhere near the kind of money Ronaldo is on.
Wages still impact a club when it comes to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). They cannot just blindly spend.
With that in mind, PIF just aren’t in a position to pay a Newcastle player anywhere near the kind of salary Ronaldo is going to enjoy in Saudi.
