Newcastle United have had their fair share of legendary players in the Premier League.
Since its introduction in 2021, the Premier League has welcomed 24 of the best footballers the league has ever witnessed into their illustrious Hall of Fame.
Newcastle United have seen many a legend come and go, with the likes of Shay Given, Les Ferdinand and David Ginola enjoying brilliant careers on Tyneside and elsewhere in the Premier League.
In 2025, Newcastle’s squad has players like Bruno Guimaraes, who could be inducted into the Hall of Fame, a player who has embraced the role of club captain.
Here are the two Newcastle legends who have had the honour of being inducted into the Premier League’s Hall of Fame.

Alan Shearer
Of course, Newcastle’s best-ever player has been given the nod for the Hall of Fame, but Alan Shearer’s induction was special.
The Premier League’s record scorer was the first induction into the Hall of Fame, a fitting tribute to the striker.
Joining the Magpies for a world record fee of £16m by Kevin Keegan, Shearer scored an unbeatable 206 goals for Newcastle, solidifying his place as the club’s greatest of all time.
Shearer was inducted alongside Thierry Henry, his dream strike partner who also scored a respectable 175 Premier League goals.
The Gosforth-born striker also won the Premier League with Blackburn Rovers in 1995.

Andy Cole
Perhaps a lesser-recognised Magpies legend, Andy Cole joined Newcastle in February 1993 for a then club-record fee of £1.75m from Bristol City.
Cole helped Newcastle gain promotion to the Premier League and finish third in their first season back in the top flight.
However, Cole left Newcastle in 1995, signing for Manchester United for £7m. His sale sparked outrage from Newcastle fans, causing Keegan to address them on the steps outside the entrance of St James’ Park.
Cole was sensational for Man United, scoring 93 goals in 195 Premier League appearances, winning five titles during his six years at the club.
His best season was undoubtedly in the 1993/94 campaign, where he scored a staggering 34 goals in 40 appearances.
