Ryan Fraser was a standout performer in Newcastle United’s 2-0 win over Brentford. Some fans believe that it’s the Scotland international’s best performance in black and white.
Since the arrival of Eddie Howe, Fraser is one of many who have turned their form around. Other standouts include the two-goal scorers in Saturday’s game, Joe Willock and Joelinton.
The 28-year-old is starting to look like he did when he was managed by Howe at Bournemouth. As Newcastle move further away from the relegation zone, an impressive escape appears to be on the cards.

The stats back up Fraser’s strong performance aginat the Bees
The wide man played a total of 89 minutes for the Magpies on Saturday. When you take a look at his stats against Brentford, you see how far he’s come.
He achieved a 90% pass accuracy, made 7 key passes and crossed the ball times 13 times (Sofascore). These stats show that Fraser was at the heart of the Toon’s creativity.
Furthermore, it conveys how far he’s come. When he arrived last season, he really struggled to make an impact. Much like Newcastle most of last season, he didn’t look good enough.
Howe deserves a lot of credit. It’s clear that he’s reinstated a lot of belief into him. Fraser now seems like a new man and the club are reaping the benefits of it.

Hopefully, this is only the beginning. Newcastle can’t afford to take the foot off the peddle. They might have extended the gap between themselves and relegation, but there’s still a long way to go.
The Magpies face Brighton next who currently sit in 10th place. However, Newcastle are in great form and the Seagulls have only won 1 from the last 5 matches in the league.
It could well be another fixture that demonstrates the progression of Ryan Fraser. Hopefully, he and the rest of the team can extend the unbeaten run to eight.
