Things felt different for Newcastle United on Wednesday night.
While naturally there were scenes of celebration after Newcastle booked their spot in next month’s Carabao Cup final, it did not feel quite as much of a party as two years ago.
Indeed, Newcastle thumped Arsenal 2-0 to win 4-0 on aggregate and will no doubt feel confident about ending their long wait for a trophy.
Whoever joins Eddie Howe’s side in the final will be difficult to overcome but when Newcastle play like that, there’s little reason to fear anyone at all.
Still, it’s promising to see the development of the team. It no longer feels like Newcastle are just happy to be in a final, it feels like they are ready to go down to Wembley and actually compete.
Still, these are moments to be enjoyed, albeit in a measured way. It seems Dan Burn was among those living it up after the full-time whistle.

What Dan Burn was doing in the dressing room after Newcastle United beat Arsenal
According to the Daily Mail, the defender actually did perform his infamous dance moves in the dressing room.
Burn performed the routine for the Sky cameras when beating Leicester at the quarter-final stage of this competition two years ago now.
Burn’s teammates and Newcastle staff reportedly urged him to take to the floor, something he duly did.
We can only imagine the scenes…
It’s best to keep Dan Burn’s dance moves away from the camera
The Newcastle squad loved Burn’s dance moves two years ago now but it feels wise to keep them away from the camera.
Howe’s side are much more serious an outfit now, it would seem. They aren’t just happy to get a trip down to London and to Wembley, they want to go and actually win the thing.
Celebrations are only natural but the time to party in front of the cameras will come if Newcastle lift the trophy…
