The blunt but exciting message from insiders that Newcastle United fans will love

An historic season for Newcastle United could still get better but the real excitement at the club is about what is to come.

Indeed, Newcastle United made history back in March by winning the Carabao Cup. After 70 long years of hurt, Eddie Howe finally ended the club’s wait for a major domestic honour.

Things could still get better at St James’ Park, too. Howe’s side sit fourth in the Premier League and are currently on course for Champions League qualification as a result. The Newcastle United manager has been an inspired appointment from PIF, changing the narrative around the club forever.

Still, no one will be resting on their laurels just yet. Howe, the Newcastle United owners and sporting director Paul Mitchell all have a job to do to get this club consistently competing with the established elite.

Which is what makes recent messages from insiders at the club all the more interesting.

The latest message from insiders at Newcastle United

According to iNews, there is an acceptance behind the scenes at the club that there’s still an awful lot of work to be done to get Newcastle to where they want to be.

It’s said there still needs to be a rebuild at the club if they are to realistically be in a position to regularly win trophies while qualifying for Europe’s major club competition.

Given it’s put so bluntly, the work surely won’t be easy but it’s exciting to hear. If they can have a season this successful without a rebuild, it’ll be fascinating to see what happens when they do have one.

Newcastle United on course for game-changer

That process would surely get easier if Newcastle qualify for the Champions League.

In fact, insiders think qualifying for the Champions League would be game-changing for Newcastle, with the funds it could provide helping to add to Howe’s squad.

Newcastle could earn £17million by qualifying for the Champions League, while being able to offer it to potential new signings would be a huge boost.

Now, they have three cup finals remaining. Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton are the final three games Newcastle have to navigate their way through. If they can do that successfully, the future looks very bright indeed.
