Newcastle have been linked with a move for Columbian pair Alfredo Morelos of Rangers and Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez in a possible double swoop.
The link is tenuous at best, and comes from a Spanish-speaking website Don Balon.
The article states that the Magpies are unlikely to be able to meet Spurs’ valuation of Sanchez – but it is a stretch to even believe that the London side would sell him.
Morelos had a mixed season at Rangers, where he scored 30 goals across all competitions, but it was marred by five red cards.

It seems very unlikely that Rafa Benitez – or any Newcastle manager – would take a chance on a player that is a liability and as likely to be missing games through suspension, as scoring goals.

Newcastle linked with Morelos and Sanchez is dubious at best
It sounds like a case of registering random players with a club that may have money to spend over the summer.

Sanchez is a good player that would enthuse fans, but it is simply unlikely to happen.
Morelos would be a signing that would likely divide opinion.
He is someone who can score goals for fun, albeit in a league in which he is playing for one of only two quality sides.

But his disciplinary record speaks for itself, and there is no way we could see Newcastle risking any amount of money on him.
It is hard to believe the validity of either claim, and it is more likely that Rafa will be looking elsewhere for players, regardless of who owns the club, or how much money he will have to spend.
