St James’ Park is a happy place once again.
With Newcastle United flying in both the Premier League and the Champions League, fans have something to cheer about.
While Newcastle fans have always been noted for their passion, they have been in particularly fine voice since Eddie Howe completely transformed the club.

So many players have their own chants, such is the high esteem in which they’re held by supporters on Tyneside.
Now, Sven Botman has shared a particular favourite.
Sven Botman now shares his favourite song about a Newcastle teammate
Indeed, the club recently ran a behind the scenes Q&A on YouTube with Botman, Nick Pope, Matt Ritchie and Fabian Schar.
Each picking up an index card and having to answer in front of the camera, Botman was asked what his favourite song from the terraces is.
Interestingly, he picked out: “Nick Pope, in the middle of our goal” as his standout.

Opinion: Imagine this during the Mike Ashley era
While there is far more to measure how much better things are now than compared to the Mike Ashley era, these kind of things would rarely have happened then.
Not only would the communication with supporters not have been much of a priority, there wasn’t much to shout about in a general sense.
Clearly, videos like this aren’t going to make Newcastle win trophies right away but they do offer far more engagement with and access to players, making for a much happier club as a whole.
As for the chant itself, it’s nice to see Botman enjoying the well-deserved praise Pope – perhaps one of the less glamorous names in the squad – gets from supporters.
A £10m signing from Burnley might not be the transfer everyone points to but the England stopper has proven value for money and then some.
