Amanda Staveley has said she thought the Owners’ and Director’s test would only take about five weeks.
The Owners’ and Directors’ test proved to be a point of contention last summer for the attempted takeover of Newcastle United.

Owner Mike Ashley had agreed to sell to the consortium comprised of Staveley, the Reuben Brothers and PIF.
But they ended up pulling out due to frustrations with the Owners’ and Directors’ Test.
That withdrawal came a whole 17 weeks later.
Staveley has given an interview with Sky Sports News, and spoken about this specific situation.
When asked if any indication there was going to be problems, she said: “We weren’t given any indication initially no.
“We were told the process would take about five weeks. And that’s what we thought was fair. That’s the process we have seen in other deals.
“I was obviously involved in other transactions in football so, we were expecting the process to possibly take that and a little bit longer.”
The Premier League maintain they processed the test properly and did not reject the package put forward last summer (via Chronicle).
Pressure mounting
The pressure on the Premier League is mounting.
Staveley says all the right things in her interview, and it is significant that it was conducted with one of the biggest media outlets out there.
She is totally committed to buying Newcastle, adding in her interview ‘I am tenacious if nothing else’ and ‘We don’t give up’.
