Newcastle United fans have had their say on the shocking story released by the Daily Mail on Thursday night.
It looks like it’s been another disastrous week off the pitch for the Magpies, if Craig Hope’s report is to be believed.
The story claims there was a bust-up between coach Graeme Jones and striker Dwight Gayle, while there is also frustration from some players aimed at Steve Bruce.
There are reportedly issues with training, with some players believing it is designed to suit Bruce rather than them.
All the while, the Magpies have had an awful start to the season. They’ve picked up just one point so far, and sit 19th in the Premier League table.
Stories like this further compound the circus the club has become. It’s the kind of story that will infuriate Bruce, who took issue with a similar report last season when he clashed with Matt Ritchie.
But all he can do is put things right on the pitch. Will that start tonight against Leeds?
A win would certainly improve the mood, but only slightly.
At the minute, this looks like a club that is once again heading for disaster.
We have an owner who wants out and believed he was getting out more than a year ago. All he wants is for the takeover to happen, but who knows if or when that will be.
Meanwhile, we’ve got a manager whose job is to keep us ‘ticking along’, while angering supporters and arguing with journalists. And the Daily Mail’s report suggests all is not well between Bruce and the players as well.
As many have said on Twitter, the Daily Mail’s story feels damning. But is it the beginning of the end? When it comes to Ashley’s Newcastle, you never know.
