Newcastle United have announced that Yoshinori Muto has officially been released.
The news was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon, with both parties mutually parting ways.
Muto has been linked with an exit from St James’ Park all summer.
First there was talk of a move to Greece, now a move back to Japan with Vissel Kobe is being reported.

Regardless, he is no longer Newcastle United’s problem. And considering his £54,000-a-week wages, he certainly was a problem.
But Muto has gone, ending a disastrous three year spell with the Magpies. At £9.5million, it’s fair to say he was a waste of money.
While he had no future at the club, his departure continues to leave us worryingly light up front.
Muto isn’t the only forward we’ve gotten rid of this summer, with Andy Carroll’s contract expiring.
Once again, we are going to be very reliant on Callum Wilson up front. Our only other out-and-out striker is Dwight Gayle, who managed just one goal last season.

Other options up top include Allan Saint-Maximin, Joelinton and Miguel Almiron. However, none of them have been consistent sources of goals during their time on Tyneside.
Bruce may feel like he has a lot of options up front, but we could be in serious danger if Wilson gets injured like last season.
Some fans are concerned, and have called for reinforcements following the announcement of Muto’s departure.
