Newcastle United have completed a loan move for Joe Willock.
The 21-year-old officially joined from Arsenal yesterday to become the Magpies’ only addition in the winter transfer window.
The star had been struggling for game time at the Emirates Stadium, but will now get the chance to play regularly at St James’ Park.

Following the arrival of Martin Odegaard at Arsenal, and the emergence of Emile Smith Rowe, a move away from the club for the young talent clearly made sense.
Willock joins Newcastle in the hope of showing everybody what he’s capable of, and there is also real hope he can be that effective box-to-box type player the team has been crying out for this season.
There have been problems all over the pitch this season, but midfield has been seriously lacking in terms of, there has been no one to drive forwards with the ball from deeper positions.
Lots of Newcastle supporters are optimistic about Willock, and some already love him for what he had to say upon joining the club.

He told the club’s official website: “This is a club with a massive history that I’ve grown up watching and I’ll work my socks off for the team. I can’t wait to see everyone and be part of the Newcastle family.”
Perhaps it is because players working their socks off for Newcastle have been in short supply in recent times, but Willock’s words prompted a positive response from some Magpies fans on social media:
