Five of those have been victories, and such a run has seen Newcastle move up to 14th in the table.

With Burnley losing to Leicester City last night, the Magpies remain four points clear of the relegation zone. But they have now played the same amount of games as the Clarets.

Morale is likely to very good in training at the moment given the way the team is playing.

Newcastle have been much improved in pretty much all areas of the pitch over the last few weeks, and picking up points will obviously be a fantastic feeling.

Newcastle have today released some new training photos, and it would seem Eddie Howe has decided to involve a few youngsters from Elliott Dickman’s U23s.

One man who was involved in Wednesday’s session was Santiago Munoz, the final signing of the Mike Ashley era.

Munoz actually made his first full start for the U23s on Monday night against Norwich City. The youngster had struggled with injury since his loan arrival from Santos Laguna.

It remains to be seen if he’ll earn an unlikely place on Howe’s bench.

One man who may or may not be making the bench on Saturday is Allan Saint-Maximin.

He’s been recovering from a recent knock back in France. He is not pictured in the latest batch of photos.

Santiago Munoz training may suggests he’s in line to potentially take Saint-Maximin’s place in Saturday’s squad

It is interesting to see Munoz working with the first-team squad ahead of this weekend’s game with Brighton.

One wonders if Howe is looking at the youngster as someone who could make the bench on Saturday.

If the trickster isn’t going to be passed fit, then it makes sense to take a look at Munoz in the days leading up to the game, just to see where he’s at.
