Newcastle United are set to announce a pre-season tour of Singapore and South Korea.

After Newcastle United beat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League, there are just nine games remaining before the 2024/25 season comes to a close.

Last summer, Newcastle toured Japan to improve their status in that region of the globe, and it seems another trip to Asia is now on the cards.

PIF are pushing to improve Newcastle’s global reputation and sponsorship deals such as Newcastle’s lucrative Adidas deal and the Sela partnership have helped to grow the club internationally.

Sandro Tonali could reunite with AC Milan this summer

Since leaving Italy, AC Milan fans have desperately missed Sandro Tonali having watched him thrive on Tyneside.

There have been several reports of Italian clubs wanting to sign Tonali this summer, but thankfully those rumours have been played down by the player and his agent.

Tonali has opened the door to a Milan return in the distant future, but he could be reunited with his former side as early as this summer.

With Newcastle set to tour Singapore and South Korea, iNews are reporting that AC Milan are also in the region in the summer and therefore one of Newcastle’s three pre-season fixtures in the region could be against the Italian giants.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also touring Asia so could be potential opponents for Newcastle as they look to grow their global fanbase.

Newcastle United broke £15m world record in Singapore

If Newcastle’s pre-season plans are true, it will be the first time the Magpies have ever travelled to South Korea.

However, Newcastle have been to Singapore before and the tour back in 1996 saw the club break a world record.

Under Kevin Keegan’s management, Newcastle announced the world-record transfer of Alan Shearer for £15million – a deal that everyone at Newcastle looks back on fondly.

With heavy investment expected this summer, Newcastle could be welcoming new signings to the club during their time in Asia.

According to the iNews report above, the tour is also set to be the most “lucrative” pre-season tour Newcastle have ever been on.

From the viewpoint of the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, it should help to ease Newcastle’s concerns.
