Johnson has been a key component in Forest’s chase for the play-offs
Forest currently sit in 9th place in the Championship. They have games in hand on a number of teams around them. If they can capitalise on their games in hand they could make a push into the top six.
Johnson has certainly played his part this season. He has 11 league goals to his name this season, making him the club’s second top scorer.

Earlier in the season, there would’ve been the struggle for Newcastle to acquire his services. However, the Magpies look very close to securing Premier League safety.
Also, considering his talent and promise, if he were to move it would be to a team in England’s top flight. Plus, the financial wealth the Toon have will mean they can challenge compete with any of the clubs in the league.
Eddie Howe will definitely be looking for new recruits this summer. The window has the potential to be one of the most exciting in Newcastle history.

At 20-years-old Johnson would be an exciting signing. He would provide some needed depth and could break into the starting XI very quickly should he fulfil his potential.
However, we’ll have to wait and see who arrives this summer. The focus of Howe and the players should and will be on the rest of the Premier League season.
