Finding Steve Bruce supporters is tough, but Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons might be two players excited by his possible arrival.

The duo are back at Newcastle for pre-season training, and might get another chance in black and white if Bruce gets the job.

Had Rafa Benitez remained, the pair would very likely have been sold or loaned out again. But, like so many players at the club, they could get another chance out of nowhere.

But the possible appointment of Bruce increases those chances. The former Manchester United manager became Sheffield Wednesday boss in January, officially starting the job the following month.

And on transfer deadline day, the Owls completed the double loan signing of Aarons and Lazaar.

The pair seemed to do okay at Hillsborough, much better than anyone anticipated. Had it not been for injuries, they would surely have played much more.

Lazaar was signed by Benitez ahead of the Championship, but never settled on Tyneside. His opportunities were limited, and he was subsequently loaned out the following year.

As for Aarons, he looked like he was going to be the next big thing. Even under Benitez, he got chances in both the Premier League and the Championship, but injuries hindered his development.

The pair seemed primed to leave Newcastle this summer. But if Bruce arrives, they might get another chance. They’ll be like two new signings!!!
