The vast majority of Newcastle United supporters are hoping for the removal of Steve Bruce as first-team manager.
Some have felt that way for some time, while others have joined the Bruce Out Brigade following a dismal recent run that has seen the club fail to win any of their last 10 games.

Confidence is on the floor, and at the moment, it’s hard to see where that much needed win is going to come from.
Some have wondered how Bruce has been able to remain in charge, with it being claimed by some that the lack of inevitable fan pressure at St. James’ Park is helping to prolong his stay.
It’s clear Mike Ashley is ready to give Bruce every chance of turning things around, and in the eyes of Richard Keys, there’s one big reason he is being patient.

Writing on his website, the BeIN Sports presenter said: “Another tell-tale sign (of trouble) is when a manager starts biting back at the press. Lampard did recently. Bruce has as well.
“The big difference is that Bruce retains the support of the owner at Newcastle. Mike Ashley likes him – and he likes the way that Bruce gets on with the job without constantly causing waves – as Benitez did.”
A worrying concept that could spell disaster
If Ashley really is reluctant to wield the axe on Bruce because he’s been admiring his approach, then it is seriously worrying.

Plenty of managers take a no-frills approach to the job at hand, but few managers instil such an uninspiring brand of football whilst going about it.
Bruce will eventually get the sack from Ashley if things continue on as they are – he has to – but it could potentially be a case of, the longer he remains, the harder it will be for a new man to keep the club in the Premier League.
