Newcastle midfielder Jeff Hendrick’s season showed no sign of getting any better during last night’s 3-2 defeat for Ireland against Serbia.
The performer came off the bench in the 61st minute with the scores locked at one apiece.
Just seven minutes later, ex-Magpies ace Aleksandar Mitrovic fired the hosts into the lead, before given them a two goal cushion seven minutes after that.
Hendrick signed for a Newcastle on a free transfer during the summer but has failed to convince supporters.
He has started 17 of the club’s 29 games in the top-flight, scoring twice in theprocess.
Last night saw Hendrick collect his 61st cap for Ireland but supporters weren’t impressed with his cameo.
Plenty feel as though the time has come to trust some of the emerging younger talents at the expense of the Magpies player.
