Newcastle United signing Anthony Gordon was spotted complaining during the warm-up on Saturday as the side prepared to face West Ham United.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that the new number eight was trying hard to make a strong first impression for Eddie Howe and his coaching staff.
Whilst Allan Saint-Maximin looked very relaxed and was trying to make Joelinton laugh during their preparations, the 21-year-old seemingly took things far more seriously.

Warming up with the other substitutes, Gordon had just made it out of the middle of a rondo when Matt Ritchie underhit a pass.
Annoyed at having to go straight back in, the former Everton man outstretched an arm and complained.

Howe would have loved to have seen this from Gordon.
Ever since he arrived at St James’ Park, the manager has instilled the idea that the players need to maintain a high level of intensity throughout matches.
As demonstrated by his preparations ahead of West Ham, the youngster epitomises this, and he will likely continue to do so on Tyneside.
At the moment, Joelinton seems to get the green light as the Magpies’ first choice option as their left-sided winger.

When the Brazilian had to fill-in in the midfield for Bruno Guimaraes on Saturday, Howe opted to go with Saint-Maximin on the flank.
Having struggled with injuries this term, the Frenchman has been utilised as an option off the bench in recent weeks.
With the arrival of Gordon, there is strong competition for the starting spot in the Toon’s XI.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see who emerges as the favourite at the end of the season.
