Steve Bruce won’t be Newcastle United manager for much longer.
That’s what is being reported by the mainstream media, with claims that the 60-year-old is going to be relieved of his duties by the new Newcastle owners.
It’s been a dramatic few days at St James’ Park, with the whole landscape of the club completely changing.

It’s a matter of ‘when’ not ‘if’ Bruce loses his job. The big question after that will be who replaces him.
Plenty of names have been linked already, and the Chronicle believe three big European managers are keen.
Favre, Martinez or Ten Hag? Take your pick Newcastle fans
The Chronicle report that Roberto Martinez, Erik ten Hag and Lucien Favre are all keen on the Newcastle job.
That speaks volumes about how tantalising a prospect the Magpies have become.

Martinez hasn’t managed a club side since leaving Everton in 2016, and has been unable to deliver silverware with Belgium’s golden generation. The Spaniard has been linked with Newcastle in the past, back when the Magpies were replacing Rafa Benitez.
Ten Hag is currently at Ajax, and signed a new contract this summer after being heavily linked with the Tottenham job. His exciting brand of football and ability to develop young players would make him an excellent option.
As for Favre, who is the bookies’ favourite, he is currently out of work after leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2020. The 63-year-old was linked with Crystal Palace earlier in the year, and could give Toon fans the entertaining football they crave.

Amanda Staveley and co have a huge job picking a new manager at St James’ Park. Do they go for someone tried and tested in the Premier League? Do they want a major name? Or perhaps a young coach? What about someone who can be a project manager?
That’s for the new owners to decide, but the Chronicle’s report on the three mangers keen is a testament to where this club could be going.
