Newcastle transfer target Armando Broja is set for meetings with Chelsea this week, per The Daily Express. The Albanian currently has a foot injury which he suffered in pre-season with the Blues, but it’s not thought to be serious.
Everton and Newcastle will monitor the situation, but Broja could stay at Chelsea. According to the same report, Thomas Tuchel is reluctant to let the 20-year-old go.
West Ham were in pole position to land the striker but they seemed to have pulled out. Instead, they’re closing in on Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.
This makes the possibility of Broja to Newcastle more likely. However, the Magpies would like a loan move ideally and that’s not what the player wants.

The ball is in Chelsea’s court, hopefully, they’ll let Broja go this summer
The Blues are still yet to replace Romelu Lukaku, who they loaned to Inter Milan. Broja’s meetings with Chelsea likely determine if he is that replacement or they’ll have to sign someone else.
Should he be given the green light to go, the Toon will be feeling confident. They are in a better place overall than their rivals for the striker, Everton.
The Magpies are in need of another striker and with a season of Premier League football under his belt, Broja to Newcastle would be ideal.
He spent last season on loan with Southampton. He did tail off towards the end of the season, but at such a young age, he can only get better. Having an experienced pro like Callum Wilson in the squad could be a big help for him.

Eddie Howe’s side have done some great business this summer. They’ve brought in quality players like Nick Pope, Sven Botman and Matt Targett.
In addition, they’ve been able to offload a number of players, permanently and on loan. But signing a striker and a winger will make it the perfect window.
If Newcastle land Broja then they could be one step closer to doing just that.
