Newcastle are interested in Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos, according to Graeme Bailey.
The striker is reportedly the subject of interest from multiple Premier League teams, including Leicester, Everton, West Ham and Southampton, as well as multiple clubs across Europe.

The report in the Gambling Times also states that Morelos has a price tag of £20million. This would make the Colombian Newcastle’s second biggest signing, with Miguel Almiron costing £21million in January.
There is a lot of interest in Rangers’ talisman, and it is clear to see why.
Morelos in demand
The 22-year-old moved to Ibrox in 2017, costing the Gers £1million from Finnish side HJK.

In his first season he scored 14 goals in 35 Scottish Premiership games. A decent return, but he is doing even better this season.

So far Morelos has scored 16 times in just 24 games. And he could have an even better record had it not been for suspension.
It’s fair to say that the forward has a temper. Morelos has been sent off four times so far this season, three have which have been against Aberdeen.
So while at least he won’t have to play the Dons if he moves to the Premier League, his disciplinary issues are certainly cause for concern.

The last striker Newcastle had with a bit of an edge was Aleksandar Mitrovic, and that didn’t end well. While he was a fans’ favourite, Rafa Benitez wasn’t keen.
But could he get a tune out of Morelos?
His goal record is sensational this season, which is why Newcastle seemingly face a lot of competition for his signature.
