Newcastle United are reportedly interested in Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina.

According to a claim from the Guardian, Magpies officials are keen to snap up the 27-year-old this summer, and he could be available for as little as £7 million.

Lemina has been on loan with Fulham this term, and has impressed despite the Cottagers’ lowly position in the Premier League table.

Fulham supposedly have an option to buy Lemina, but a move would be extremely complicated given Scott Parker’s side could go down.

Lemina set Southampton back £15.4 million when they signed him in 2017 from Juventus, so the Saints could end up offloading him for less than half their original investment.

The Guardian add he is not a part of Ralph Hasenuhuttl’s plans for the future at St. Mary’s Stadium.

West Ham United are also said to be in the mix.

Lemina would be great business at £7 million

If Southampton really are open to a sale in the region of £7 million, then it’s a chance for a real bargain.

His time on the south coast appears to be up, and it’s probably unlikely he’ll be turning his move to Fulham permanent.

Lemina is a great technical player capable of breaking the lines with his precise dribbling.

He’d be a great addition. A hypothetical midfield three of Lemina, Joe Willock and Isaac Hayden is quite exciting to imagine.
