The agent of Watford winger Ismalia Sarr held a meeting with Newcastle United last month in London, according to Footballtransfers.com.

In the same report, it states that Sarr is looking for a move. Watford are in serious relegation trouble, so he’ll want to remain playing in the Premier League. Interestingly, he is also the agent of Antonio Rudiger of Chelsea, a previous Newcastle transfer target. Furthermore, The Telegraph stated that the Toon entered the race to sign him back in March.

Watford paid £40 million (Sky Sports) for Sarr in 2019. He’s been one of their star players since he joined. It isn’t the first time he’s been linked with the Magpies. In March, The Sun reported that Newcastle were looking to sign the Senegalese international this summer.

Sarr on one wing and Saint-Maximin on another would be an exciting combination next season for Newcastle

With Ismalia Sarr being a Newcastle transfer target this isn’t that surprising. Additonally, the ties with Antonio Rudiger indicate his agent would be willing to negotiate.

Whilst the Chelsea defender likely won’t head to Tyneside this summer, other clients might do so. Sarr would be an exciting addition.

Also, his age suggests he has plenty of room to grow. He could become quite the acquisition for the Toon. The club made a bid to sign him previously (France Football). It was 2019 when Sarr was 19-years old, instead, they signed Allan Saint-Maximin.

But they could end up playing together next season. That’s definitely a very exciting thought for some Newcastle United fans. The Magpies do have the likes of Ryan Fraser, Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy who can play there.

In addition, Sarr would definitely be a better option. Watford will want to make as much money off him as they can if they’re relegated.

He’s proven he’s Premier League quality so would need less time to settle than a winger from abroad.
